San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - The San Antonio Spurs have signed guard James Anderson. The Spurs selected the 6-foot-6 Anderson with the 20th pick in last month's draft. Anderson was named the Big 12 Player of the Year last season after averaging 22.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals in 33 games for Oklahoma State. He averaged 17.9 points and 5.1 rebounds during his three years with the Cowboys.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -The NBA is returning south of the border when the Los Angeles Clippers play the San Antonio Spurs in an Oct. 12 preseason game in Mexico City.

It will be the league's 17th visit to Mexico City and 19th game in the country, the most matchups in any country outside the United States and Canada.

The game will be played as part of the Olympic Sports Festival, which runs Oct. 9-17 as part of the bicentennial celebration of Mexican independence.
