03/09/2009 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Portland Trail Blazers will shoot for their 12th consecutive home win Monday when they welcome the class of the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers, to the Rose Garden.
The Blazers won the opener of a four-game homestand on Saturday against the reeling Minnesota Timberwolves. Brandon Roy dropped a game-high 31 points and handed out six assists in that one, as Portland continued its home success with a 95-93 nail-biter against the Wolves.
LaMarcus Aldridge chipped in 15 points and grabbed a game-best 11 rebounds while Travis Outlaw provided 30-plus strong minutes off the bench with 14 points and nine boards.
Portland, which is a gaudy 26-5 at home and just one-half game behind Utah in the Northwest Division, will also face Dallas and New Jersey on its residency.
The Lakers, who own the NBA's best record, finished a short two-game homestand of their own in perfect fashion on Friday, also beating the Wolves.
Kobe Bryant had 23 points and made history in that game as LA cruised past Minnesota, 110-90, at Staples Center. Bryant now has 23,354 career points and moved past Robert Parrish for 18th all-time in NBA history.
Pau Gasol had 21 points and nine boards while Josh Powell added 14 points and six boards off the bench for the Lakers, who have won two straight overall, six straight at home and became the first team in the NBA to hit the 50-win mark this season.
LA, which is opening a three-game road trip tonight and is 21-8 as the visitor, has dropped six straight in Portland, however, and hasn't won in the Rose City since February 23, 2005.
The Lakers, who have upended the Blazers twice in Hollywood this season, will also face Houston and San Antonio on their current trek.
